Service Knowledge
One of the first things we noticed when we got to Austin was that cars leaving many high-end “detailers” had significant swirl marks in their finishes. Most visible in direct sunlight (see photo), swirl marks are fine scratches in your vehicle’s clear coat. They are caused by overuse, misuse, or improper application of polish or wax by rotary buffers or polishers. Repeatedly abusing a car’s finish in this manner can cause permanent damage. Correctly protecting, restoring, and beautifying your vehicle’s finish is a matter of subtlety and professionalism on which we refuse to compromise. We guarantee your vehicle will never leave our care with swirl marks. We also assess and remove pre-existing swirl marks.

Product Knowledge
A lot of “detailers” use Armor-All (or worse, an off-brand substitute) because of name recognition and its nifty shine. We don’t care about name recognition; we care about efficacy and long-term benefit to you and your vehicle. Armor-All is a compromise because of its chemical composition. It requires steady reapplication to maintain its shine, offers no UV protection, and its chemical base actually oxidizes plastic and rubber over time, which ultimately diminishes their appearance. For all plastic and rubber, we use a marine-grade dressing far superior to Armor-All. It nourishes trim and tires while providing both robust UV protection and an attractive, lasting luster.

Green Leadership
Detailing has classically been a resource-intense industry – but we don’t think it has to be. Using specially developed products and techniques, Above and Beyond is leading Austin’s detailing industry in environmental responsibility by using less to do more. For example, we use only non-toxic, biodegradable chemicals and protect our aquifer and watersheds by requiring less than 2 gallons of water to wash and detail each car!
